A Year In The Life - Day 343, April 28, 2015

Back almost a year ago (was May 22, 2014), when I decided to do this picture a day thing, I kicked things off with a photo of Warren hiding out inside an old boat cabin down by the Yukon.  Well, time hasn't treated the cabin all that well.  Here it is, once again with W inside it, on a beautiful day.  I had visions of using this subject for the final one-year pic, but looks like it might not make it to May 22, so I'll use this pic today, while the weather aligned to give us a good shot.  Maybe on the one year I'll add another one of these as an 'extra'. :)

Today kicked off 'Cultural Week' at the school.  The opening ceremony included an Eskimo dance with the entire school in the gym.  A limited shot, as the bleachers were not far enough away to get the whole scene...

Water beetle hunting dominated our outside adventures today.  Warren fit right in with a crowd of village kids who had amassed more of the little beasts than I've ever seen in one bucket.  They claimed their count was around 200, and if you saw them stick their hands in that bucket and what came out of it, you might just believe that's not far off...

A Year In The Life - Day 340, April 25, 2015

The students were up to their usual mischief today, dropping Necco wafers into my coffee, hoping they would melt before I got to the bottom so they could all laugh at me and get me to wonder why this time.  The wafers didn't melt fast enough this go-round, but before I could complain about the kids playing games, I found a reason to, uh, .....smile, instead...   :)  One of the students held up the glass for a pic.
